Overview
The Tegu is a common pet in Adopt Me! that made its debut on August 15, 2025, along with the Aztec Egg. Known for its distinct and striking appearance, this pet was part of the Aztec Egg collection.
Originally, players could acquire the Tegu by hatching an Aztec Egg for 750 Bucks or a Basic Egg for 400 Pet Releaser Tickets. However, since the Aztec Egg was removed from the game on February 28, 2026, obtaining this pet has become more challenging.
With a 35% chance of hatching from an Aztec Egg, the Tegu is now available through trading or by hatching any remaining Aztec Eggs players might still have.
The Tegu was part of the Aztec Egg collection, which included several other unique pets.
How to Obtain
Hatch an Aztec Egg
If you have an Aztec Egg, hatch it for a chance to get a Tegu.
Trade with other players
Look for trading opportunities with other players to obtain a Tegu.
Tricks
Like all pets, it learns a new trick at each growth stage as you age it up from Newborn to Full Grown:
| Age | Trick |
|---|---|
| Newborn | Sit |
| Junior | Joyful |
| Pre-Teen | Beg |
| Teen | Jump |
Neon & Mega Neon
The Neon Tegu features glowing orange accents, including head markings, body stripes and spots, tail stripes, and the underside of its head and body. Even the spots around its eyes light up!
For a truly dazzling effect, the Mega Neon Tegu showcases the same glow areas as the Neon version, but they cycle through the colors of the rainbow.
Collector Notes
- The Tegu is a common pet, making it relatively easier to trade compared to rarer pets.
- Since the Aztec Egg is no longer available, trading is the main way to obtain a Tegu.
- Consider collecting multiple Tegus to create a Neon or Mega Neon version.
- Keep an eye on trading markets for Tegus, as their value may fluctuate based on demand.
