How Trading Works
Trading is how most players get the pets they want in Adopt Me. To trade, walk up to another player, send a trade request, and wait for them to accept.
Both players then add pets or items to their side of the trade window. Nothing is exchanged until both players confirm — and if either side changes their offer, the confirmation resets, so you always get a final look before it goes through.
A trade only completes when both players accept. If anyone asks you to hand something over first "to be trusted", it's a scam — walk away.
How to Trade Safely (Avoid Scams)
Trading inside the menu is safe; almost every Adopt Me scam happens when players step outside it. Keep these in mind:
Only use the Trade Menu
Always trade through Adopt Me's official Trade System. Never hand over a pet first on a promise — there's no "trust trade."
Check both sides before confirming
Read exactly what each side is offering before you hit confirm. The trade only completes when both players accept.
Watch for last-second swaps
Scammers change their offer right before you confirm, hoping you won't notice. Re-check the items after any change.
Never share account info
No legit trade ever needs your password, email, or Robux. Anyone asking is scamming you.
What Makes a Fair Trade?
There's no official price list in Adopt Me — worth is decided by the community and shifts over time. In general, a pet is more valuable when it's:
- Rarer or limited — pets from retired eggs and past events can't be obtained anymore, so they only get harder to find.
- Neon or Mega Neon — these take several Full Grown pets to make, so they're worth much more than a single regular pet.
- In demand — popular, good-looking pets trade for more than equally rare but less-wanted ones.
A fair trade is simply one where both sides feel the rarity and demand roughly match — take your time and don't let anyone rush you.
