Overview
The Rat is a delightful rare pet in Adopt Me!, first introduced during the Lunar New Year event on January 24, 2020. With the event no longer active, the Rat can only be obtained by trading or by opening any leftover Rat Boxes.
Design-wise, the Rat features a dark gray body complemented by a pink tail, a pink nose, and gray paws. Its oval-shaped ears are gray with pink on the inside, giving it a charming appearance.
The Rat Box had a high chance, 93.33%, of containing a Rat!
How to Obtain
Trading
You can trade with other players to get a Rat.
Rat Box
Open any remaining Rat Boxes you might have.
Tricks
Like all pets, it learns a new trick at each growth stage as you age it up from Newborn to Full Grown:

Neon & Mega Neon
The Neon Rat is quite a sight with its vibrant pink glow on its inner ears, feet, tail, and nose.
For an even more colorful experience, the Mega Neon Rat shines with the same glowing areas cycling through all the colors of the rainbow.
Collector Notes
- Rat Boxes are no longer available for purchase, so trading is the primary way to obtain a Rat now.
- Obtaining four Full Grown Rats will allow you to create a Neon Rat.
- If you have four Full Grown Neon Rats, you can combine them to make a Mega Neon Rat.
- The Rat's high chance of being found in a Rat Box makes it more common than its event counterpart, the Golden Rat.
